The San Luis Obispo Mozart Festival is held every summer during the 
last week of July and the first week of August. It is in its 26th 
season and currently consists of lectures and approximately 40 
concerts held over two weeks.
Check San Jose State University for their Beethoven Center.
San Jose Cleveland Ballet is now playing "Blue Suede Shoes", 
a Dance Tribute to Elvis and Elvis's song.

Ghiaradelli Sq., and China Town for oriental antiques etc - S.F,
Stanford Shopping Center has beautiful gardens, Neiman Marcus, many
small shops - Palo Alto,
Valley Fair, Nordstrom, Macy's - Santa Clara, San Jose,
Stonetown - Burlingame,
Stoneridge - Hayward,
New Park Mall - Fremont,
Eastridge -  San Jose, used to be the biggest shopping center
in the bay area.
Carmel has many boutiques, antique shops and art galleries.

John Muir National Historic Site, in Martinez;
17-room Victorian mansion where Muir wrote seminal works on
conservation; 8.9 acres (3.6 hectares) of landscaped gardens.

Golden Gate National Recreation Area. In San Francisco and Marin
counties; only United States national park located in a major
metropolitan area; 39,000 acres (15,783 hectares); 100 miles
(161 kms) of trails, picnic areas, beaches, and redwood forests.

Hearst-San Simeon State Historical Monument. Near 
San Simeon; estate of late publisher William Randolph
Hearst.

Big Sur Country. 94-mile (151-kiloms) stretch from 
Carmel to San Simeon; narrow, twisting highway with
